Ben Lomond Lavender Farm is situated in the stunningly beautiful Wakatipu Valley near Queenstown. The Manners Wood family have owned the property since 1978 and Shane, who has lifelong love of gardening and organics, decided to plant a field of lavender in 1998. Lavender loves our growing environment with its hot dry summers and cold winters, free draining soils, 1000 feet above sea level giving the best growing conditions for the highest quality lavender essential oils .
We grow both oil producing lavenders, Lavandula Angustifolia and L. Intermedia, which are grown organically and steam distilled on the farm immediately after harvesting. This allows us to produce the quality oils from which we blend into our unique product range. Ben Lomond Lavender is a member of the New Zealand Lavender Growers Association and our oils are tested to internationally recognised standards.
Why not come and visit us here at the farm and enjoy walking through rows of lavender, display gardens and browse the gift shop. We love the fact we can share lavender’s soothing and fragrant qualities with visitors from all over the world.
Tour groups are welcome. An informative talk and walk in the display gardens by prior arrangement for a small fee.
