It has been a wonderful summer at Ben Lomond Lavender. We have had weeks of temperatures in the high twenties and low thirties. The large garden called for many hours of moving sprinklers to keep the plants alive. But the warm nights were very pleasant for outdoor dining and entertaining.

The lavender plants have had a difficult season with late frost effecting the flowering of the angustifolia.  With uneven maturity of flowers the yield was down from our record highs last year.

Having had a wonderful skiing trip to Niseko in Japan, it was straight back to harvesting of lavender and opening the shop for the awaiting customers. There was another increase in Chinese visitors, wedding photo shoots and supplying lavender flowers, dahlias and foliage for weddings.

Now the autumn tidy up begins.
